Build your own solar quotebefore anyone quotes you

Type the system size you want. Get the full bill of materials — every panel, rail, clamp, cable and protection device a real installation needs. Change anything you like, apply your subsidy, and see the payback.

Build my list Already have a quote?

Nothing to sign up for. Nothing leaves your browser.

The whole material list, not a headline price

Modules, inverter, rails, mid and end clamps, splices, frame steel and legs, DC and AC cable, both distribution boxes, surge protection, earthing electrodes and a lightning arrester. Every line a real quote should have.

The same engine our installers use

These quantities come from the same calculation that runs inside Solset for professional EPCs — clamps shared between neighbouring panels, rail measured per row, legs counted off the frame you pick.

Subsidy done by the actual slabs

PM Surya Ghar pays fixed slabs, not a percentage of your bill. Most online calculators get this wrong in both directions. Ours pays what the scheme pays.

Payback on your numbers, not ours

You enter what you have been quoted per kW and what you pay per unit. We do not invent a market rate and quietly build a payback on top of it.

How it works

1

Say how big

Type the system size you have in mind, in kilowatts. Not sure? A rough rule is 1 kW per 120 units a month.

2

Get the list

The full bill of materials appears instantly, with quantities. Change any of them, remove what you do not need, add what you do.

3

See what it means

Apply your subsidy category and your own cost per kW, and see the net price, the year-one saving and the payback.

How big a system?

kWp

Panels per row decides how much rail and how many clamps you need. With no roof drawing we cannot know it, so it starts at 10 — change it if you know how your roof runs.

Your system is 5.45 kWp, not 5 kWp. You cannot buy part of a panel — 10 panels at 545 W each is the nearest size you can actually build. Every figure below uses 5.45 kWp.

How is it mounted?

Front and back legs at a fixed tilt — the commonplace RCC rooftop frame.

Quantities marked Estimated are rules of thumb — cable runs and earthing depend on your building, and only a site visit settles them.

  • • No inverter has been selected, so the BOQ has no inverter, AC protection or AC cable sizing. Pick one before ordering.
  • • AC cable is estimated at 25m. The site survey records the real run length — use it before ordering.

No inverter is listed because the right one depends on how your panels are wired into strings, which needs a roof layout. Solset works that out for installers.

Subsidy and payback

₹30,000/kW for the first 2 kW, ₹18,000 for the third, capped at ₹78,000.

Saves ₹63,224 in year one

Over 25 years this system saves about ₹24.56 Lac at a levelised cost of ₹1 per unit — against the ₹8 per unit you pay the grid today.

  • • PM Surya Ghar is capped at ₹78,000 — the capacity above 3 kWp earns no additional central subsidy.

Output is estimated at 1450 kWh per kWp a year — a national average. Your real generation depends on your city, your roof angle and shading.

Questions

Do I need an account?

No. Nothing on this page asks you to sign up or log in. Type a size and the list appears.

Are these quantities exact?

The panel, rail, clamp, splice and structure counts follow directly from the system size and the row layout, so they are as exact as the layout you give them. Cable runs and earthing are marked Estimated, because they depend on where your inverter sits and how your building is earthed — only a site visit settles those.

Why does the size change when I type a number?

You cannot buy part of a panel. Ask for 5 kW of 545 W panels and you get ten panels, which is 5.45 kW. We show you the size you would actually have rather than the one you typed.

Why are there no prices?

Because we do not know what your supplier charges, and a made-up rate on a page like this is worse than no rate. You enter your own cost per kW — the number your installer quoted, or the one you are testing — and everything downstream follows it.

Is the subsidy figure reliable?

It applies the PM Surya Ghar slabs as published: ₹30,000 for the first kilowatt, ₹30,000 for the second, ₹18,000 for the third, and nothing above that — a maximum of ₹78,000 for a home. Eligibility depends on your DISCOM, your meter and using listed equipment, so treat the figure as the ceiling you can claim, not a promise.

Can I hand this to an installer?

Yes, and that is the point. Walking into a quotation conversation with the material list already in your hand changes it completely. Use Know Your Quote afterwards to check what they send back.
