Solar Ladder is a Mumbai company, seed-funded in 2023, that sells CRM, proposals, 3D design, tasks, project management, books, procurement and finance to Indian installers. That is the same list Solset AI covers, which makes this the comparison worth reading carefully: the two products disagree on how, not on what.
Where Solar Ladder is ahead
- Mobile apps: Solar Ladder has iOS and Android apps in the stores. Solset AI’s web app works on a phone, including site photos and updates from the field, but the native apps are still in development and we will not list them until they ship.
- Social proof: Solar Ladder shows a logo strip and headline counts (companies, projects, megawatts, proposals). Solset AI publishes no counts, by policy; what you can check instead is nine free tools that run on the product’s own engines.
- Loan products: Solar Ladder lists housing, commercial, residential and working-capital solar loans on its homepage. Solset AI models the customer’s economics (payback, net metering, EMI) but does not arrange finance.
Where Solset AI is ahead
- Published pricing and a free plan. Solar Ladder’s site has no pricing page and no self-serve signup; the “Live demo” button opens a login screen. Solset AI’s plans are public, and the Free plan is a real workspace.
- Design depth you can audit: per-module shading by month and hour, structure takeoff with wind loads, a solved frame analysis and STAAD export, a single-line diagram, DXF import and export, and a bill of quantities that prices from your own inventory. Solar Ladder’s design page describes a two-minute design and shareable 3D previews; it does not describe shading, SLD or structural checks.
- Finance done to the book: GST with the CGST/SGST/IGST split, GSTR-1 and 3B exports, TDS register, credit and debit notes, payables ageing. Solar Ladder’s Books page lists inventory, costing, expenses and invoicing.
- Global by design: a workspace outside India bills in dollars and the Indian rules stay out of the way. Solar Ladder’s product pages are India-only, though its blog has started writing for the Philippines and Thailand.
Pricing, side by side
Solar Ladder does not publish prices; every page ends in a demo request form. Figures are from the competitor’s own website, read on 8 October 2026; check their pricing page before relying on them.
Solset AI prices per workspace, not per user: a plan covers the company, extra seats are an add-on, and the Free plan never expires and needs no card. Subscriptions are billed in rupees or dollars, and the Design Studio can also be used one roof at a time with pay-per-design credits. Every figure is on the plans page, where it is read from the live catalogue rather than typed into a blog post.
Who should choose which
If a native phone app for your crews today is the deciding factor, Solar Ladder has one and we do not yet. If you want to see the price before you talk to anyone, try the design studio on a real roof, and run procurement and GST invoicing on the same record, start with Solset AI.
If Solar Ladder fits the way you sell, use it; the point of this post is that you can decide from the facts. If the job after the proposal is where your margin leaks, start a free Solset workspace, add one real enquiry and take it to a quotation. Our other comparisons are on the compare page.
